North Henry Apartments

7270 SQ FT | Greenpoint

This project featured a comprehensive renovation of a vacant three-story walkup building in trendy Greenpoint, Brooklyn. On the exterior, the façade was cleaned and a custom steel and glass door was installed leading into the lobby. Original millwork in the lobby was preserved and enhanced with an optical tile pattern on the floor and a complementary grey and white paint scheme. Inside each unit, the antiquated railroad-style layout was modified into a three-bedroom floorplan featuring two full bathrooms. A long hallway connecting the bedrooms was illuminated with cove lighting, simulating a wash of daylight. In the bathrooms, drop-in soaking tubs and contemporary Duravit fixtures reflect off large format gloss wall tile and black penny tile. The basement was fully renovated and outfitted with three individual artist’s studios that were rented to local artists. All building mechanical systems were replaced with an energy efficient HVAC system individually controlled in each of the 6 apartments. Furniture staging was also completed by NA-DA.
